Hallmark has demonstrated its commitment to sustainable development and energy efficiency through its participation in the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program (LEED). The Green Building Rating System™ provides a means for clients to publicly certify their facilities adhere to a high-performance sustainable program of development.

Hallmark's project staff is LEED trained and experienced in managing the LEED certification process from project planning through construction. Hallmark is expert in identifying design efficiencies to achieve higher levels of energy savings and the use of recycled building materials. Hallmark is also experienced in bringing projects successfully through the complex construction materials reporting process and in working with construction contractors to assure a smooth LEED implementation.

As public awareness of the importance of sustainable development matures, many municipal and state agencies, as well as several federal government departments, are coming to require LEED certification for their new construction projects.
